Anthony Dixon

Anthony Dixon PhD MB BS FACRRM

Professor Anthony Dixon is one of Victoria's most respected experts in cancers of the skin as rated by expertscape.

He is the post graduate education director for the Australasian College of Cutaneous Oncology. Dr. Dixon has been teaching skin cancer for over two decades. He hosts workshops on all aspects of cutaneous oncology, including dermoscopy, surgical and medical management.

Dr. Dixon is in private practice in Geelong about an hours drive out of Melbourne. He is married to Mary Dixon and they have two daughters, Emma and Zoe.

Anthony has published original research in an array of the leading medical, surgical, dermatology and plastic surgery journals from around the world. These include: British Medical Journal, British Journal of Surgery, British Journal of Dermatology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Medical Journal of Australia, Dermatologic Surgery, Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Australian Family Physician.

Most of Dr. Dixon's research pertains to the complications and outcomes of skin cancer management. By better understanding outcomes we are better placed to choose the optimal approaches.

Dr. Dixon is a member of a number of international dermatology groups including the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology (AOCD) and the Florida Society for Dermatologic Surgery (FSDS).

His research continues with a number of new studies set to be published in coming years. Anthony also acts as the Program Convenor for the ACCO annual conference.

Dr. Dixon became an Associate Professor in 2008 and a Professor in 2012.
