Dr Lisa Gilbert

Trafalgar & Moe

Gippsland, Victoria

Dr Lisa Gilbert is a GP working in beautiful Gippsland. Lisa grew up in Eastern Melbourne and was working as a Biomedical Scientist before moving to Gippsland in 2009 to pursue her medical career.

Lisa graduated from Monash University with honours in 2013. She was awarded the Prize in Clinical Medicine from the Royal Australian College of Physicians.

Lisa then undertook General Practice Training and has attained Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2018. Throughout her training she took on advanced skills including obtaining Certificate in Women’s Health, Certificate in Emergency Medicine and is currently working toward Associate Fellowship with ACCO.

Having trained locally, and now settled in the Latrobe region, Lisa is familiar with the issues affecting Gippslanders’ and is committed to rural General Practice. She is now focusing on expanding her training in Skin Cancer Medicine, whilst continuing to engage with the community as a GP and academic.

She currently splits her time working for Monash University as the Academic Coordinator and Lecturer for the 3B Medical Students in Latrobe, Skin cancer work in Moe, and GP work in Trafalgar. She is also interested in training the next batch of GP’s and runs monthly education sessions for registrars with EVGPT.

Her personal interests include travelling (pre covid!), staying active, spending time with friends and family (including her fur babies!) and indulging in local food and wine – and she would love to hear tips for the best places in Gippsland!
